Vaisakhi parade 2013

These are the guys you want organizing community events.

Here's the link to twitter posts that day: most were about Vaisakhi, food, and who showed up (a bit of electioneering).

Here are a few pictures I managed to take before getting overwhelmed by the crowds.

Cultural group preparing to sing

At the back of the crowd heading up 128

Each picture has many stories inside

I like the One God T-Shirt

I took this shot because it showed a rare bit of pavement

Parade group

In almost every picture someone is standing the other way taking a picture with their phone

Looking North on 128th close to 80th Avenue

I made the mistake of cutting across the parade route - here is a look back after a harrowing trek

Info on South of the Fraser River: Surrey, Delta, White Rock, City of Langley, Township of Langley, Fort Langley. Maybe a bit of Abbotsford, just for fun.

This site is experimental. See About (top right) for more, or Blog for meta-information. The working goal is to create an almanac of items, tidbits of information and methods of gathering information.

Right now the site is biased to just south of the Fraser River, within the northern reaches of great City of Surrey, but there is some foraging further afield.
